How It All Works

Bitches generally do what we call cycle every 6 months it is at this point when they are in season that they ovulate and are then capable of carrying a pregnancy. All my girls are Kennel club registered and fully health tested as are the stud dogs which I chose to use, all proof of these will be available to view. After a successful couple of matings we then wait the painstakingly long 30 days until I perform an ultrasound scan to confirm pregnancy. Bitches generally carry for 63 days, my girls go into their own personal maternity suite where they are constantly monitored, once the puppies are born they are checked over, weighed and made sure that all the puppies in the litter are latching on and feeding well. All my girls have faultless personalities allowing me to be involved in every step of their labour from start to finish. The puppies are weighed and temperatures checked every day for the first 3 weeks of life to ensure a steady weight gain and ideal body temperature as they are not able to regulate their own before this. They are unable to see or hear for the first 2 weeks of their lives and it is around the 2 week mark that we see little peepers and their hearing begins to develop.

Visits

I allow visits from the age of 4 weeks to potential new families and not before, they are far to susceptible to outside nasties before this stage. You will at this point meet the mother and her puppies and be able to chose your pup, once chosen I will require a deposit to secure him or her and receipt of this will be provided, the final payment will be taken upon collection. It is so important that you are comfortable with the mother of any litter as 80% of your puppy will have his or her mothers characteristics and its their motherly nature that teaches their babies many traits from almost the beginning. Please be aware that it is as equally important for me to be comfortable with prospective families and situations and that I feel that you can provide the best possible life for one of my puppies, I will not sell any puppy to anyone that I don’t feel is suitable.

From around 4 weeks the puppies are gradually introduced to different environments, sounds and situations this is done gently and slowly so as not to overface them. They will over the next few weeks come into contact with all manner of things from the hoover and my dreadful singing and all aspects of home life to a variety of live stock and an assortment of other dogs of all shapes and sizes to interact with.

The puppies will by 10 weeks be using outside to go the toilet, all puppies are naturally clean and will not chose to mess in their beds, they learn that the grass is the best place to go and provided you keep that up…toilet training is a doddle!

All my puppies will leave me fully vaccinated with a veterinary health check, 4 weeks free insurance, micro chipped, wormed, flead, fully weaned with their own puppy pack and a life time of support available.
